Saved by Nails

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

This is the essence of salvation. God gave us Jesus and this resulted in His death on the cross. He had to take our place, punished for the offence He didn't commit to save us from sin and its consequences.
Not only that, He came to gave us life too and to have life more abundantly.

In John 10:10, "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."

*What does it mean to be saved?*
''Matthew 1:21, "And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall SAVE his people from their sins."
[4/11, 7:47 PM] Lady Testimony👜👗👠: The Greek word for save there is "sōzō" and it means, "to deliver, protect, heal, preserve, make whole"...

That's what Jesus came to do. Jesus permitted the stripes, nails, cross, crown of thorns, etc  to get us saved. He allowed all that for us to have deliverance, healing, prosperity, protection, etc.

Isaiah 53:5, "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."

1 Peter 2:24, "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed."
[4/11, 7:53 PM] Lady Testimony👜👗👠: 2 Corinthians 8:9, "For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich."
[4/11, 7:56 PM] Lady Testimony👜👗👠: For us to have these things plus the kingdom of God and the very life of God, He became obedient unto death, even to the death of the cross. You know, that shameful death. He died with thieves, remember?
[4/11, 7:57 PM] Lady Testimony👜👗👠: Philippians 2:8, "And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross."
[4/11, 7:57 PM] Lady Testimony👜👗👠: Our God is wonderful!
[4/11, 7:58 PM] Lady Testimony👜👗👠: Hope we're following🙂
[4/11, 7:59 PM] Lady Testimony👜👗👠: Jesus was delivered for our offences and raised again for our justification
[4/11, 8:00 PM] Lady Testimony👜👗👠: Romans 4:25, "Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification."
[4/11, 8:00 PM] Lady Testimony👜👗👠: Glory! 🙌
[4/11, 8:03 PM] Lady Testimony👜👗👠: *He has given the whole world salvation, how do we receive it?*
[4/11, 8:08 PM] Lady Testimony👜👗👠: Romans 10:9, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

10:10, "For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
[4/11, 8:08 PM] Lady Testimony👜👗👠: Did we see that?
[4/11, 8:10 PM] Lady Testimony👜👗👠: Confessing with the mouth Lord Jesus and believing in the heart that God has raised Him from the dead,

That is God's template!
[4/11, 8:12 PM] Lady Testimony👜👗👠: Romans 4:24, "But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;"

4:25 "Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification."
[4/11, 8:15 PM] Lady Testimony👜👗👠: Before these two verses, Apostle Paul was talking about Father Abraham. He was explaining how righteousness was imputed on Abraham because he believed in God:
[4/11, 8:16 PM] Lady Testimony👜👗👠: Romans  4:17 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.  4:18 Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.  4:19 And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb:  4:20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;  4:21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.  4:22 And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.  4:23 Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him;
[4/11, 8:18 PM] Lady Testimony👜👗👠: Apostle Paul wrote, "But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;"

Righteousness would be imputed on us if we what?
[4/11, 8:19 PM] Lady Testimony👜👗👠: ...If we believe on Him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead.

Righteousness is about believing in God who has raised Jesus from the dead.
[4/11, 8:22 PM] Lady Testimony👜👗👠: God has made us righteous and given us the benefits of righteousness (healing, deliverance, etc) through Christ by faith which is a gift.
[4/11, 8:23 PM] Lady Testimony👜👗👠: Ephesians  2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:  2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
[4/11, 8:25 PM] Lady Testimony👜👗👠: But isn't it shameful that what happens these days with believers make it look like it's not real we have these?

God has given us health, riches, etc, but some Christians look like the opposite...
[4/11, 8:27 PM] Lady Testimony👜👗👠: This leads to a question..

Seeing and receiving what Jesus has done, *how can we make them effectual?*
[4/11, 8:28 PM] Lady Testimony👜👗👠: Philemon 1:6, "That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus."
[4/11, 8:29 PM] Lady Testimony👜👗👠: Let's break it down a little bit:
[4/11, 8:31 PM] Lady Testimony👜👗👠: That the participation of my belief in Christ may become powerful by the acknowledging i.e full discernment of every good thing I have in Christ Jesus.
[4/11, 8:33 PM] Lady Testimony👜👗👠: You see, not acknowledging what we have will make it powerless and ineffective.
[4/11, 8:34 PM] Lady Testimony👜👗👠: The power of the message of the cross can only manifest when we know and accept what Jesus has done.
[4/11, 8:36 PM] Lady Testimony👜👗👠: Thing is, we can't accept what we don't know. No wonder why Apostle Paul prayed that the eyes of the Ephesians (Christians at large) to be enlightened:
[4/11, 8:37 PM] Lady Testimony👜👗👠: Ephesians  1:17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:  1:18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,  1:19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,  1:20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
[4/11, 8:38 PM] Lady Testimony👜👗👠: He understands what knowledge brings to us, likewise the lack of it.
[4/11, 8:39 PM] Lady Testimony👜👗👠: Hosea 4:6, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children."

[4/11, 8:45 PM] Lady Testimony👜👗👠: We have to know and ACCEPT what He has done.

Let me end with this:
[4/11, 8:49 PM] Lady Testimony👜👗👠: Accepting the essence of the cross is more like standing on the good things in us in Christ.

It's about fighting the good fight of faith and following the instructions our faith gives in light of God's word.

Our faith tells us not fear, that we should be bold and courageous, and on like that. They're all in the scriptures.

Let's be consumed in His word, for it is our life. His word is the only reality we should live on and not that of the world, because what?

We are Saved by Nails 🙌
