What God will Not Do: Gospel Today Devotional - 21st May, 2022

Mothers are very unique, aren't they? We all can attest to the fact that there are. Quite a number of things they do for their children. Mothers can go to any length so as to make sure that their children are happy.

Have you ever seen a mother respond to the cry of a baby who is still being fed by her? You would agree that as soon as the baby begins to cry, and the mother hears the voice of her baby, she instantly gets the signal that the baby is hungry and needs to be fed.

Without hesitating, she takes the baby and feeds him with the necessary food. This is to explain the fact that no mother would see her sucking child cry, and will deliberately decide to ignore him. No, not at all. The scripture below tells the believer how God as well doesn't forget his own,

"Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee". (Isaiah 49:15)

The scripture opens with the question, can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on him? No, one would say. It is not expected  that such happens, but since mothers are humans as well, it may be possible.

The scripture then assures the believer that even if a mother should forget her sucking child, and would not have compassion on him, God will never forget his own. The Lord in today's devotional says to you that he will not forget you. Glory to God.

Dear believer, it may be as though everyone has forgotten you, as though no one cares about you, and as though nothing works in your favour. The truth is, they are humans, and it is inherent in them to forget. Don't be disappointed because though they forget you, the Lord says to you that he will not forget you. The Lord has not forgotten you, and he will not forget you. May these words from God himself to you exhort, and comfort your hearts today. Amen.

Thought for the day: Though others forget you, the Lord will not forget you.
