According to scripture, there were instances where on the account of healing a person, the Lord Jesus said to them, "Your faith has made you whole", but he was the one who made them whole, right? Today, we shall be looking at the verses of scripture below. May the Lord himself speak to us.
"But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour". (Matthew 9:22).
"And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way". (Mark 10:52).
"And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole". (Luke 17:19).
The first case as seen in the book of Matthew happened when the woman with the issue of blood touched his garment and was made whole, and after the encounter, and her words to Jesus, he made the statement. Then we see again in the book of Mark, where the blind man received his sight, and the same statement was made. In the case of the ten lepers as recorded in Luke, with one coming back to glorify God, the same statement was made.
The common statement made in all three passages remains, thy faith has made thee whole. The question is, if Jesus was the one who healed them, why did he still say that? It is because they couldn't have come to him if they didn't believe, and though he could have still healed them even if they didn't believe, he was still surprised by their acts and response of faith. Little wonder most times he asked them if they believed he could, and their answer gave the victory.
By faith, we were saved, and by faith, we are healed. We have seen from scripture that faith in Christ is the reason for our victory in Him. As believers, therefore, we should at all times believe His name, his word, and promises, over any situation. Also, when he instructs us, we should in faith respond and act, and the Lord will at all times honor our faith by granting us the victory we so desire. The Lord help us all in Jesus' name. Amen.
Thought for the Day
Your faith in Christ is that which brings the victory you desire. Do you believe he can? Will you respond in faith when he says to do a thing?
