The Concepts of Belief and Faith

As an Individual, it is very likely that you believe in something or someone. Even atheists believe that God does not exist.  This power to believe in something comes by choice and mind postures built over time by different factors around us. For many people, their backgrounds influence their choice of belief, while others are influenced by academics, relationship or the environment to mention a few.

The truth is, we all have something or someone we believe in. This is why we can have Christians, Muslims, or Buddhists.

Claiming to believe in something or someone must be total and absolute. This means that in reality,  you are not a believer in a thing if you do not wholly represent that idea. A believer in anything does not offer lip service or calls himself a believer merely to attach or identify with such thing.

A believer is a person who believes that a specified thing is effective, proper, or desirable. He or she gives consideration to something or someones, to be true and therefore worthy of one's trust and belief.

The Greek word for believe is pisteuo (pronouced as pist-yoo'-o), meaning; to have faith (in, upon, or with respect to, a person or thing), i.e. credit; by implication, to entrust (especially one's spiritual well-being to Christ):–believe(-r), commit (to trust), put in trust with.

By these explanations, it is certain that every concept,  idea,  person or institution can either have people who belief in it or people who do not. Nobody can stand on the fence for partial benefits of any kind. However, in reality, there are actually two kinds or categories of believers.

1. Sense Ruled Believers

The sensed ruled believer is a person who does not wholly accept something or someone to be true and worthy of his or her trust. therefore they do not believe but depend on their senses and understanding.
now applying this to Christians,  these are people who doesn't believe in Jesus Christ wholly and his promises. They believe he exists and he still exist but they can't just have total faith in him. they proclaim that they are a believer but this does not reflect from that attitude.

2. Faith Ruled Believer

You can guess what this kind of believer day to day living will look like? you right, they have total faith in Christ, they depend on God wholeheartedly, this kinds of believers are the ones who are not ashamed of the Gospel, and they believe the word of God. when God said it is finished, they believe it is finished, when God they will make it and be successful, they believe in it.

After reading this, you alone know which part you fall into, if fall into the first one, please take some time and praying asking God to help you believe in him total for you every need.and if you fall into the second type, congratulations, but do not loose faith in christ but continue to be with him till he returns.

Shalom.
