Jericho was the oldest city in the world during Joshua's days. The Outer wall of Jericho was 6ft thick and about 20ft high. The inner wall was about 12ft thick and was 30ft high. Between the walls was a guarded walkway about 15ft wide. Jericho was practically the Cross over city for Israel. Jericho was a gateway to most cities of the world at the time.
