Can I truly find Security In God's Word?

Everyone wants a sense of assurance in one way or the other and no one likes to be left hanging. However, so many people have gone as far as seeking their solace in other people and things. As a believer today, what is our assurance in this world? What keeps us safe from threat in our academics, our jobs, our finances and from other spaces in our society?

 

God's word in Zechariah 2:5 says, the Lord will be a wall of fire, protecting them and all Jerusalem; he will be the glory of the city.". So, the first thing we ought to place in our minds is the fact that God Himself is our security. So, any threat that wants to come at you has to come at God first. Keeping that in the face of every problem helps us to keep our head high without wavering. You can input your name in the Bible text, confessing out loud until the scriptures comes out more real to you than ever.

Again, in Mark 16:17-18, those who believe in God shall have the authority to cast out demons, and they shall speak new languages. They will also be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink  poison, it won’t hurt them; they will place their hands on the sick and heal them.”. This opens up another fact that for every believer, utmost security is your inheritance. For so long as Christ has died for your salvation, He  also died for your security be it in health,finances or your career. That is why no matter what faces a believer, he should not shake or fear as he has a greater inheritance of security in Christ. Do not feel like you are at the mercy of anything! The highest place of security anyone can be is in Christ, so why are you still panicky?

Another great reason why we should be assured is that we have control over angels and their operations. They are responsible for protecting you all day long. I call them "your personal bodyguard from your father"! Hebrews 1:14 confirms this where scriptures say that angels are only spirit-messengers sent out to help and care for those who are to receive God's salvation. So, since we have received this salvation,we have access to their other functions too. The popular verse in Psalms 91:11-12 also reads that He orders his angels to protect you wherever you go. They will steady you with their hands to keep you from stumbling against the rocks on the trail.

 

You are just too defended to be wasted. You are heavily guarded. That is who you are and that is just the security and assurance you need!!!
