The scripture in the book of Hebrew records that it is impossible to please God without faith ( a very persuasive belief in the fact the he is God). It also records the reason one must possess faith in order to please the Lord, and it is because he that comes to God must believe first that he exists, and then a rewarder of those who seek him diligently (Hebrews 11:6). Praise God.
Let's look at this together. Suppose a child is to seek the help of his father. Let's say for instance, the child decides to get a bicycle, and has been saving up some money for this purpose. He goes to price the bicycle, and discovers that the cost price is higher than that which he has saved which causes him him to seeking his father's support. The only reason he would seek his support is because he has the faith in his father's financial ability, and as a father, would you deny your child if he should seek your help?
According to scripture, there were instances where on the account of healing a person where the Lord Jesus said to them, your faith has made you whole, but he was the one who made them whole, right? Today, we shall be looking at the verses of scripture below. May the Lord himself speak to us.
"But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour". (Matthew 9:22)."And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way". (Mark 10:52)." And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole". (Luke 17:19).
The first case as seen in the book of Matthew happened when the woman with the issue of blood touched his garment, and was made whole, and after the encounter, and her words to Jesus, he made the statement. Then we see again in the book of Mark, where the blind man received his sight, the same statement was made. In the case of the ten lepers as recorded in Luke, with one coming back to glorify God, the same statement was made.
The common statement made in all three passages remains, thy faith has made thee whole. The question is, if Jesus was the one who healed them, why did he still say that? It is because they couldn't have come to him if they didn't believe, and he couldn't have healed them in unbelief. Little wonder most times he asked them if they believed he could, and their answers gave the victory. Do you remember that Christ couldn't do much miracles because of unbelief at a certain point? This is because without faith, it is impossible to get anything from him.
So, he was saying in other words that your belief in my name, and ability to do this is that which has granted you your healing. So it was though he was saying be it unto you according to your faith; if you believe I can heal you, then so be it. By faith we were saved, and by faith we are healed. We have seen from scripture how that the effectual working of our faith is the reason for our victory in Christ Jesus. As believers therefore, we should at all times believe his name, his word, promises, over any situation, and the Lord will at all times honour our faith by granting us the victory we so desire. Remember the words of Jesus today, thy faith hath made the whole, and I say to you that your faith will make you whole. The Lord help us all in Jesus' name. Amen.
Thought for the day: Your faith in Christ is that which brings the victory you desire. Do you believe he can?
