Biography of Minister Abbey Ojomu

Born on 17th May, Minister Abiodun Oyinda Wosilat Ojomu, known professionally and popularly as Minister Abbey Ojomu, is a Nigerian gospel music minister, songwriter/composer, and worship leader from Lagos. She is the founder and convener of Qavah Evangelical Ministry.

Early Life and Conversion

Minister Abbey Ojomu was born and raised in a Muslim household in Lagos, Nigeria, before a dramatic health crisis reshaped the direction of her life. In 2010, she was struck by a severe case of tuberculosis so debilitating that she lost the ability to walk. According to her, at the height of her illness, she crawled out of her house at 1:00am to plead with God for healing, promising to serve Him for the rest of her life if He would deliver her. She credits that encounter with her conversion to Christianity and the beginning of her calling into gospel ministry.

Ministry Calling

Since answering the call of God in 2010, Minister Abbey Ojomu has carried a clear mandate: to reach the ends of the earth with the gospel through music, preaching, and the teaching of God's Word, with the goal of setting captives free through the power of Christ. She previously served as a worship leader at Harvesters International Christian Center (HICC) and is best known within Nigerian gospel music circles for the depth and intensity of her live worship ministrations - a style that has made her one of the more sought-after worship ministers on the Christian conference and worship-concert circuit.

Minister Abbey Ojomu is the founder and convener of Qavah Evangelical Ministry, which she describes as a spiritual waiting room - a gathering point for believers seeking to wait intensely upon the Lord in prayer. The ministry grew directly out of her breakout single “Qavah,” and has since expanded into a full worship movement, including the recurring Qavah Conference and the online worship concert, Realms of Glory, both known for drawing gospel artists, ministers, and worshippers from across Nigeria and the diaspora, including recent ministry appearances in Kenya and South Africa.
