Charles (1920) and Frances Hunter (1916) were popular charismatic healing evangelists who were often known as the Happy Hunters. The Hunters were listed among the top 20 most popular and influential Charismatic leaders in the May 1986 issue of Charisma magazine.
The Hunters preach that healing is a part of the atonement, and they hold “Healing Explosion” conferences to teach Christians how to heal the ill. Their healing lectures are now available on audio and video tape. Hundreds of thousands of people have flocked to their crusades around the world. In 1985, about 200,000 individuals attended the first 21 Healing Explosion gatherings in the United States, with single crusades drawing up to 50,000 people.
