Words.

A fascinating concept.
We speak words we write words down.
Words hold power - so we covet words.
Christians covet the word of God with such eagerness and wide-eyed hunger.

I watched her. The one I loved, holding onto words.
She suddenly became this bravado!
This wondrous woman with confidence that moved people.
All eyes were glued to her as she stood in the middle of the crowd and shouted.
“ God told me to tell the lot of you that He still loves you!”

The classroom became quiet.
The atmosphere became so dense
You could cut through the awkward silence with a knife.
And that’s exactly what she did.
She used the sword of the spirit, rightly divided the word of truth as the apostle said in 2Timothy 2:15.

I could see her words cut through the dense air.
And cut right through the defenses of our unsuspecting classmates.
In ten minutes, there were tears everywhere.
I could see the move of the spirit!

I remember my mind not being able to process
That shy Agatha who could barely speak a word to me the first day we met was the same person
Speaking words that convicted the hearts of many that afternoon.

After that surreal experience
She moved to the back of the class to pray
And as she passed me she said in a voice just above a whisper “Romans chapter 1 verse 16”
As if she could hear my very thoughts and touch my disbelief.
For months my heart pondered on the wonders of God’s power,
That the power of the living God within a willing heart leaves no room for shame.
