Romans 2:4, 1st John 5:13, Ephesians 2:6-8, Romans 4:1-5, John 3:16
Fear is an instrument that gets people to behave properly. When you instill fear in the hearts of people, it is likely that they will yield to your biddings so that the punishment they fear will not come upon them. Sadly, many believers use the instrument of fear to introduce God to sinners. These believers portray God as one who is always sniffing for sin.
Fear makes people to only think about "finally making heaven". The standard is only God's grace - and that's why Jesus really moved with tax collectors, prostitutes and sinners generally.
There are two reasons why people are scared to preach the true assurance of salvation. First, they believe it might cause people to be careless and fall into sin. God's grace is not a second chance, third chance, tenth chance or last chance. God's grace is in exceeding riches.
As a believer, you must know and understand that Jesus Christ prayed that we shall have a salvation that is sure - John 17:11-20. Jesus also preached about the salvation we have (John 6:39) and as well, he swore about the salvation we have - Hebrews 6:13-19, Ephesians 1:13
A seal is a pledge of authenticity- Acts 11:15-17. The Holy Spirit is God's brand logo and it's an authentic one. It can never be fabricated.
Philippians 1:6, Jude 1:24,
1st Corinthians 9:24-27, Matthew 7:15-23
Heaven is my home and not the goal. Jesus has gone home to prepare for my coming so the goal is to never go home alone.
There are two classifications of people when it comes to God's grace
1. The ones who fight it (because of pride)
2. The ones who take it as a license to live anyhow
Your Response to a message like this should be:
1. Have Peace
Your conviction should be strengthened and this is what brings peace. Isaiah 32:17, Romans 5:1-2. You have peace in your heart that your salvation is sealed and blessedly assured.
2. Eliminate Fear
You can completely kill fear in your heart by renewing your mind. Titus 1:2, Romans 1:5
3. Represent Christ Truly
Be an ambassador - James 2:11 - The fact that you have salvation is not a call to live anyhow. You must have works that show your faith. What you do is the proof of what you have believed. If you're not acting right, you have not believed right. When you make mistakes, remind yourself of who you are. God is not irritated by you - see the prodigal son. God has accepted and called you
