Bishop Stephen Adegbite at 58: ‘I’ve Spent 38 Years Serving God’

The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Bishop Stephen Adegbite, has described his life and career as a testimony of God’s faithfulness, revealing that he has devoted 38 of his 58 years to serving God.

Adegbite made the disclosure during a thanksgiving service held at the NCPC headquarters in Abuja to mark his 58th birthday.

Reflecting on his journey, the cleric said his accomplishments were products of divine grace and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve God through his various responsibilities.

“Out of the 58 years I have lived on earth, I have spent 38 years serving God and I attribute my accomplishments to divine grace.”

Adegbite described his appointment as Executive Secretary of the NCPC as a privilege to continue serving God while contributing to national development and promoting unity within the Body of Christ.

He also expressed appreciation to his wife, Princess Adewunmi Fadeke, his family and members of the NCPC staff for their support throughout his journey.

The NCPC boss further acknowledged President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu for their goodwill and birthday wishes, particularly appreciating the First Lady for personally reaching out to celebrate him.

Adegbite calls for religious harmony

Speaking on his vision for the country, Adegbite emphasised the importance of religious harmony, peace and national stability.

He urged members of the NCPC staff to see their positions not merely as offices or titles, but as opportunities to make a positive difference in the lives of others and contribute to the development of Nigeria.

The cleric also reflected on the pilgrimage exercises conducted under his leadership over the past two and a half years, describing them as spiritually rewarding. He said preparations for the next pilgrimage exercise would begin in earnest.

Tallen celebrates Adegbite

Former Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen, who attended the birthday thanksgiving, congratulated Adegbite and commended his commitment to both God and the nation.

Tallen prayed for continued strength, divine protection and greater accomplishments for the celebrant.

The thanksgiving gathering featured prayers, goodwill messages, presentation of gifts and the cutting of an anniversary cake, with family members, friends and NCPC management staff in attendance.

Bishop Stephen Adegbite is the fourth substantive Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission. He also serves as Chaplain of the Aso Villa Chapel, Chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and Chairman of the Southern Christian Leaders Assembly.
