Words are very powerful; the more reason as a believer you need to be careful with your word, and even the way you communicate such words to people.
Words as powerful as they are can make a person cry or laugh. It can cause pain and live an unforgettable scar in the life of a person.
You see sometimes, the things we say will either encourage someone or make that person stay in a perpetual state of discouragement. Words have the power to heal and the power to increase pain. What effect does your word have on people?
It is therefore necessary to speak not just the right words but to speak the right words the right way. The scripture admonishes that as a believer, you're to speak the right word the right way as seen in this scripture.
"A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver." (Proverbs 25:11)
This is amazing. It tells you not just what to speak but how to speak. If we're to examine this scripture; it means to say that it is true you have to speak, but it is very important how you speak.
A word( that which you say to anyone) fitly(rightly) spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver. This implies that when words are spoken the right way, they become edifying to those who listen. If someone is discouraged, speak fitly. If one is confused, in pain, hurt, depressed, frustrated; you have to speak fitly. Speak to ease their pain, to encourage, to appreciate, to counsel.
This is indeed amazing because when you speak a word fitly, it becomes like apples of gold in pictures of silver to those who hear you speak. It will bring to them comfort, peace, encouragement, gladness, etc.
Dear believer, ensure to speak a word that is right at all times. Let your word become as apples of gold in pictures of silver to all who hear you. Ensure to watch your words, and to speak fitly. The Lord grants you the grace to do so. Amen.
