The Heart as an Altar by Damilola Jacobs

The Heart as an Altar by Damilola Jacobs

Altar is a sacred place and a secret place that is reserved for few people to go and offer sacrifices. The same is of our heart, our heart is an altar, it can either be an evil or holy altar and only you can know your thoughts and the type of sacrifices burning on it.

Altars are very important and very powerful, every individual must have an altar, which is why every priest in the Old Testament always build altar wherever they find themselves. But our generation is very lucky because we don't have to start looking for materials to build altar, grace has given us the ability to have a mobile altar HEART but we determine the kind of sacrifices we want to offer and who we are offering it to.

Every individuals must always provide a sacrifice, else the altar will be cold or Luke worm hence a cold altar will smell and invite unclean animals THE DEVIL.

Many people refuse to offer a sacrifice thereby giving room for the devil to turn the altar of their heart into his own, thereby offering evil sacrifice that make the face of God turns away from the person.

In Leviticus 6:12 the priest is meant to keep the fire burning by not putting the fire out but by fueling it to increase the fire.

Many altars have been broken and in despair but it can be repair. A broken heart, harden heart, unforgiving heart cannot offer a true and acceptable sacrifice but the good news is that the altar can be rebuild and repair because before God can ignite the fire on the altar of your heart you must have repair it.

Building and repairing altar take time and orderliness. If you notice when building alter you have to first of all gather stone (the word of God), then gather wood THE BRETHREN, then you start to arrange the wood in a way that fire can be able to burn well then later pour fuel KEROSENE OR PETROLEUM.  That fuel stand for your prayer and worship don't forget the more you pour the fuel the more the fire increase. The more you pray the more God ignite your fire.

To keep the fire on your Altar be intentionally, continually and consistently fueling it because a fire left by itself will eventually go out,   When you have a burning Altar you dominant over all the evil altar working against you because a sacrifice can never be sacrifice to another God.

The altar of your heart can also be turn into the secret place, where you dwell, communicate with God, where you seek the face of God, where you receive rhema from God.

I remember a verse in the bible that says 'HE THAT DWELLS IN THE SECRET PLACE OF THE MOST HIGH SHALL ABIDE UNDER THE SHADOW OF THE ALMIGHTY' then I was wondering how can someone dwell in the secret place?, Does it mean that I can't work, talk to friends or do others thing than just to stay in the secret place praying or singing to God. But the holy Spirit make me understand that that secret place is the heart.

Through the heart we can continually dwell and create a consciousness of the shadow of God around us, we can always stay close to God through our heart, we can always offer a true sacrifices to God through our heart.

There are many types of sacrifices we can offer through our heart; there are sacrifice of praises, sacrifice of worships, sacrifice of prayers e.t.c

For every moment the fire is allow to burn out or almost burn out,  there is always a price to pay to be able to get back the fire to burn, sometimes you will even have to start the process all over again that's why you must always check the fire and rekindle it less it goes out.

The quantity of your fuel determine how much of fire you carry and the only way you can know how much capacity you've built in the place of prayer is how much of the presence of God you carry, how much of the presence of God you carry determine the number of life you will impact and the number of life you will impact depends on your willingness to release yourself to God and communicate with him in the place of prayers.

Alot of people tend to ignore God, refuse to offer their heart totally as a sacrifice to God because of things going on around them, they have fear, anxiety, timidity and double  in their heart but that kind of sacrifices can never be acceptable before God but he is willing to help purify it.

In conclusion a prayerless life produces a fireless altar. For your to keep your altar burning continue to pray without ceasing.
