Biography of Pastor Wale Adefarasin

Born on 21st June, 1952, Pastor Wale Adefarasin is the General Overseer of Guiding Light Assembly Church, with headquarters located in Lagos-Park View Estate, Ikoyi, Lagos, Nigeria.

In over thirty years, he has devoted his life to the work of God within and outside Nigeria. He strongly believes in the corporate existence of our country, Nigeria.

He is the Senior Pastor of a multifaceted-ministry, non-denominational Church with branches in Lagos, Abuja and London.

He was born to the family of Joseph Adetunji Adefarasin, a Nigerian High Court Judge from Ijebu Ode and Hilda Adefarasin, a Women's Rights Activist from Lagos State. He is a social entrepreneur, International speaker, TV presenter on the programme "The heart that matters" and respected thought leader. Pastor Wale is also the General Secretary of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, the Governing Apostle of the International Coalition of Apostles, an affiliate of the International Coalition of Apostles and also leads a number of pastors networks.

Pastor Wale is passionate about transforming the Country God has made him part of. He is one of the most active advocates of national renaissance.

Pastor Wale has been a crusader for national reorientation and is actively engaged in working for restoration of the values of integrity, honesty and transparency, starting most importantly with the younger generation in their schools.

Pastor Wale is married to Olaolu Adefarasin for almost 30 years and they are blessed with a daughter (Ademide), two sons (Ademola and Adeolu) and a grand daughter.

He is very much engaged in the affairs of his family.


Pastor Wale is the author of the book titled "The Succession Crisis In Nigeria".

There, he highlighted the importance of generational succession planning in the establishment of sustainable institutions across the whole spectrum of social life, including the corporate, political and governmental sectors.

Pastor Wale was a businessman in the oil industry before he was called into the Ministry.

Pastor Wale had more passion in leading people to Christ than making a lot of money from his businesses. His advice to Christians is for them to always "seek those things which have a lasting value, things on earth can be corrupted, choose those things, which have eternal value, which is important". Seek for the things of the Kingdom rather than earthly things.
