People sometimes believe that when you give out a thing, you lose that which you give out. This is true in a sense cause the thing you have given out is no longer yours. This perhaps may be the reason many people do not like to give out things.
If a little child has a bicycle and is told to give it out, the fear of not having to see his beloved bicycle again may make him reluctant but if assured that a new one will be given to him, he may reconsider. Praise God. Let's see the passage of Scripture below,
"Moreover his mother made him a little coat, and brought it to him from year to year when she came up with her husband to offer the yearly sacrifice. [20] And Eli blessed Elkanah and his wife, and said, The Lord give thee seed of this woman for the loan which is lent to the Lord. And they went unto their own home. [21] And the Lord visited Hannah, so that she conceived, and bare three sons and two daughters. And the child Samuel grew before the Lord." ( 1 Samuel 2:19-21)
We have been considering the book of 1 Samuel for some time now and have seen some lessons that have been of help to us as believers, right? We talked about the fact that Hannah made a vow to God and she saw to it that the vow she made was fulfilled. Some people might have thought she was foolish but I disagree.
Hannah was a very wise woman and we too can learn so much from her. Unlike many people, Hannah didn't see giving Samuel to God as a loss. No, not at all. The truth is that no one loses that which he gives to God. Although she waited long to have that child, she was willing to give him back to God. After all, God was the one who gave her the child.
Could she have thought that if God gave one, he was able to give her more? Just maybe although the scripture didn't say. Though Hannah gave the child she waited so long to have back to God, God rewarded her sacrifice of love and blessed her with more children. Do you consider that which you do for God or give to him a waste or loss? Then let this encourage your heart that nothing you give to God is a loss and nothing you do for him is a waste. God bless his word in your heart. Amen.

Prayer: Lord, I thank you for your word today. This I pray Lord, that you give me the grace to withhold nothing from you and to always bear in mind that nothing given to you is waste or a loss.
