Tell Death
Herald it to him
Tell death, when he comes, not to rejoice.
Tell him he has nothing to take as I'll be
Emptied when he arrives to free my soul.
Tell death, when he comes, not to rejoice.
Tell him he's the bridge to my Pilot.
Tell death, when he comes, not to rejoice.
Tell him the fear - of him - that grips
Mortal hearts lost its hold on mine at Golgotha;
& that He'll usher me into Christ's presence.
Tell death, when he comes, not to rejoice.
'cause I'm exiled from his lair to God's kingdom ruled
By rules scripted in scriptures and his spirit within me -
The hope of glory.
Tell death I died when my Saviour died
On the rood;
& That in Jordan was I buried and arisen
Into a new LIFE.
Herald it to him
Tell him from God’s heart I hear
Love weeping – weeping for the world;
& for this, I’ll rise and herald
This love to the world.
Oh tell him I’ve no shame –
My shame was crucified with Christ on
The rood.
Tell him this verse is a testament of
My faith; in it is no shame to declare
God’s Gospel as I herald
ZOE to a dying world.
Well articulated!This is a beautiful piece. Well-done.👏

ReplyDeleteA nice Easter themed Poem. Weldone Korede.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant Writeup, a poem with great message
ReplyDeleteBecause God’s children are human beings—made of flesh and blood—the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the devil, who had the power of death. Only in this way could he set free all who have lived their lives as slaves to the fear of dying.
ReplyDeleteHebrews 2:14-15 NLT
Well done Korede, you captured well this passage of the scriptures in your poem... It's only those who have not experienced Calvary that are afraid of death and the devil who has the power of terrorizing people with fear of death all their lives. The ONLY WAY of escape is to ENCOUNTER THE CROSS, EMBRACE THE SAVIOUR!
Aptly elucidated .Your rythmes and lines are great . Keep it up Korede

ReplyDeleteThis is awesome! Great job!
ReplyDeleteGreat write up korede
ReplyDeleteHaving perused the lines, I am enlivened by the solemn but authoritative tone that furnishes the fluidity and style of the poem as a structural whole. This is a great deal of making art out of words to "tell death" that he has no power over the offspring (s) of Christ.
ReplyDeleteThis is just a poem on the finished works of Christ. I read it and was refreshed

ReplyDeleteThis poem stirred my heart. Korede, thank you for this piece you crafted. It moved me to tears. Indeed, I am buried with Christ.
ReplyDeleteReminds of Donne's "Death be not proud..." Korede, you've fashioned a wonderful piece. "Tell death not too rejoice..." A believer dies fulfilling purpose and death, for him, will a bridge to God. He has nothing to take away. The greatest disaster that can happen to a man is if he does with all of God's potential within him. This is great piece of penmanship Korede. Well done.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful piece
ReplyDeleteTell death not to rejoice when it come
