But Without Faith: Gospel Today Devotional - 23rd March 2023

A young man said to his friend, "Do you believe God exists?". The friend replied, " Yes I do". He then replied, "If he does exist, how come we don't see him", and his friend responded, " It is because you do not believe, for it takes faith to see God ".

But Without Faith: Gospel Today Devotional - 23rd March 2023

The conversation above between the hypothetical young man and his friend is to lay a foundation that will help understand today's devotional.

The reason many people become atheists, claiming that God does not exist is that they base their assessment of God on logical reasoning. They want to see, feel, and just like Thomas, put their hands in the place where Jesus was nailed but that's not the way it is, is it? Many will never get to see him if they decide to reason this way. You can't know if God exists through logical reasoning. Let's examine the scripture below:

"But without faith, it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." ( Hebrews 11:6)

The scripture above explains all the ways through which God can be seen, not by logical reasoning and arguments, but by faith. Just like it is impossible to please him without faith, it is equally important to note that you must believe that he is ( that he truly does exist).

You may not have seen him or held him, but he does exist. He existed before time, he still is in existence, and will forever be.

Thought for the Day: It takes faith to see God. It takes faith to believe that he is and that he rewards those who seek him diligently.
