Made Anew by Grace by Nwegbo Miracle Chinecherem

I was lost but somehow I was found,
And as tattered and dirty and purposeless as I was,
He didn’t abhor me,
But cleansed, decorated and gave me a vision for life.

The power of sin no longer has a hold on me.
For I am now like God—
Having a nature so beautiful and pure,
Grace made me so.

After I applied to God’s kingdom through faith,
I thought He discarded résumés with bleak pasts,
But unbeknownst to me,
Jesus taking my place at the cross was more than
Enough to qualify me.
Jesus, by whom I’ve been made sanctified and just.

I feel unworthy—
Like I cheated God.
Because somehow this thing called the “Grace of God,”
Is just too overwhelming for me to fathom—
By how it just qualifies one to be numbered amongst the saints.

But again,
His words continually remind me
That He is Love
And that His Son paid the price in full
For my justification.

But above all,
I have hope.
Having a full assurance that after it all on earth,
I’ll forever live with the One
Who first loved me and has made me anew.
