June 4, 1873

Charles F. Parham, founder of the Apostolic Faith movement and one of the founders of the modern Pentecostal movement, is born in Muscatine, Iowa. In 1900 he founded the Bethel Bible School, where speaking in tongues broke out—launching the Pentecostal movement 


June 4, 1948

On this day, Far East Broadcasting Company began Operations. Based in the Philippines, this organization commenced its broadcasting efforts across Asia on this day, with the staff singing "All Hail the Power of Jesus' Name" during their inaugural broadcast. 


June 4, 326

Saint Metrophanes, recognized as the first Patriarch of Constantinople, passed away on this date. He was esteemed for his leadership and contributions to the early Church


June 4, 1971

Martyrdom of Saints Zoticus, Attalus, Camasius, and Philip. These martyrs are commemorated on June 4. Their relics were discovered in 1971 in Niculitsel, Romania, and they are honored for their steadfast faith during periods of persecution. 


June 4, 1608

An Italian religious founder and saint, Francesco Caracciolo passed away on this date. He co-founded the Congregation of the Minor Clerics Regular and is remembered for his piety and dedication to the Church. 


June 4, 1561

The medieval cathedral in London suffered significant damage when its steeple was destroyed by a fire caused by lightning on this day. The steeple was never rebuilt. 


June 4, 1889

Elvina M. Hall, a member of the Monument Street Methodist Church in Baltimore, Hall is best known for writing the hymn "Jesus Paid It All" in 1865. She passed away on this date.
