How to Build Spiritual Habit that Last

Building Spiritual habits that last is an essential for every believer.
Revelation 3:16 KJV
[16] So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
Building Spiritual habit that last is not a new obligation. It's a life God has both birth us into and has called us to live.

Building spiritual habits that last is a lifelong journey, not a destination. As believers, we recognize that spiritual growth is a continuous process that requires effort, commitment, and perseverance. Our homes are the foundation of our spiritual lives, where we can cultivate habits that nourishes our souls and draw us closer to God. For me, this journey is an ongoing process and I'm growing to be better, this journey has kept me going. Through intentional practices like prayer, Bible study, and community engagement, I'm striving to develop spiritual habits that will sustain me through life's ups and downs. It's a journey I'm learning to be committed to, knowing that it's in the daily disciplines that I find strength, hope, and purpose."

Some lasting spiritual habits that we ought to cultivate include:

1. A habit of prayer

Regularly communicating with God, talking to Him, and listening to His voice. As the Bible says, "Pray without ceasing" (1 Thessalonians 5:17). This habit helps us stay connected to God and seek His guidance and wisdom in our lives.

2. A Bible reading/studying culture:
Developing a habit of reading and studying the Bible to deepen our understanding of God's Word. This habit helps us know God's will for our lives and equips us to live according to His principles.

3. The habit of meditating on the Word:
Reflecting on God's Word, pondering its meaning, and applying it to our lives. As Joshua 1:8 says, "Meditate on the law of the Lord day and night." This habit helps us internalize God's Word and live according to His principles.

4. A fasting plan or schedule:
Setting aside time to fast and focus on spiritual growth. As Matthew 6:16-18 teaches us, fasting should be done with humility and purpose. This habit helps us discipline our bodies, focus on spiritual growth, and seek God's guidance and intervention in our lives.

These habit are essential for our spiritual well being because it's on the basis of our spiritual life that our physical life is established upon. And just as our physical muscle, if we don't keep exercising and nourishing our spirits it shows and our physical life suffers it most.
Reason being because the things that are seen are made from things not seen.

Now let's dive into the main topic of the day.
How do we build Spiritual habit that last?
1) Be sincere to yourself. Don't pretend to be who you are not or even beat yourself because you are not getting it right spiritually, In you walk with God.

2) Through Discipleship.
Discipleship is a powerful way to build spiritual habits that last. When we invest in discipleship, we're not just learning about God - we're learning how to live out our faith in a real and practical way. Through discipleship, you can develop habits like prayer, Bible study, and personal commitment that will help us grow in our relationship with God.
To get you started, I will advice you to check out the 100 days discipleship training at Celebration Church, led by Pastor Irene. This training is designed to help believers like you and I develop a strong foundation in our faith and build habits that will some become our life.

3) Trust God to help you get better.
It's God's will that you prosper in everything and in him you can do all things. God can help you get better. Keep showing up, even as little.

4) Lean on God's available help.
Men are God's help. Community is God's available help also. Seek accountability partners.

5) Lean on the Holy Spirit.
He's your teacher, your companion, your comforter, your helper, the spirit of truth, your lover and all in all. He can help you

6) Talk to God often. At all times. When it matters and when it doesn't matter. As long as you're breathing talk to God. He's your father, your lover and your friend.

7) Learn about Jesus commitment to the father. Lean on the word.

8) Start small and stay growing. Keep showing up every day as small as it is. Just like a little dropping of water, your giant is emerging, your spirit is enlarging, your great man is arising and you are becoming more. Just keep going and trust God for grace to stay growing.
When you've identified growth, multiply your showing up every day by 2, or 3 in a day.

If you're feeling like your spiritual fire is dwindling despite being strong in your faith, here's a solution: create routines around your spiritual activities that are non-negotiable. Prioritize time with God when you're at your best, and make sure nothing else gets in the way. And most importantly, enjoy God's presence in everything you do. Even when life gets busy, hold on to Him. Rely on Him, and let His Word guide you. Have a go-to Bible verse to meditate on, speak in tongues often, and make God's presence your dwelling place. Pray without ceasing, and let the Holy Spirit reign in your life. Don't let your fire fade – keep it burning"

While preparing for this, it was not just a message for you, it was also a personal question in my heart and a spiritual instruction for me to stay burning.
