Written on the strength of Rice Broocks' book titled God's Not Dead: Evidence for God in an Age of Uncertainty, the film is a story of Harper, a Christian college student whose faith is challenged by an atheist philosophy professor (Sorbo), who declares God a pre-scientific fiction.
3. Breakthrough
Breakthrough is a faith-based drama based on the true story of a teen boy's miraculous recovery from a fatal accident where three teens fall through thin ice into frigid water. The boy, who was adopted as a baby, struggles with feelings of rejection and identity as he continually describes himself as "unwanted,". When Joyce Smith’s son John falls through an icy lake, all hope seems lost. But as John lies lifeless, Joyce refuses to give up, and her steadfast belief inspires those around her to pray for his recovery. Based on the incredible true story of one mother’s unwavering devotion, Breakthrough is an enthralling reminder that faith and love can create a mountain of hope, and sometimes even a miracle.
