Have you ever encountered an error page when browsing on the internet?
Whenever this happens, you may look frustrated, especially if you are searching for a very important thing and was hopeful to find it on that page. In the same way, we encounter problems, trials and tribulations in life even at times when we feel things should go smoothly.
In John 16:33, Jesus says "these things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (New King James Version). His statement here was an assurance that there will be tribulations, but that He will be right there in the midst of it, calming down the situation and helping us to overcome. The victory of Christ is ours because He overcame already when He proclaimed that "it is finished" on the cross of calvary.
Another point in scripture where Jesus assured that He would be present to calm the situation was when He journeyed with the disciples. Jesus had fallen asleep and there was a suddent storm on the sea. The disciples were panicked and frightened, thinking they would lose their lives to the storm.
