There are days and times when we get cumbered with quite a lot of busy activities. Our schedules are tight, and
we find little or no time to do the things that are quite important to us. Sometimes we forget to check on those we are to check on, we forget to return the calls as expected. We forget to buy that which we promise. This most times may not be intentional, and although we have the mind to do such things, we are too busy to do so.
There are people who find it difficult to spend time with their families because of their over busy schedules. They get to spend little time with their spouse, and children. They are just so busy that they forget the ones that are most important to them. It's either there's a tight schedule, very high demand from work, and while this may not be intentional for many, others out of negligence prefer to be very busy that they even find it difficult to create time for the things that matter to them the very most. This however needs to be checked, that even amidst the busyness, there's the need for a retreat. A need to pay attention to the things that matter the most to them. Praise God.
Aren't they some persons who get very busy that they find it difficult to rest? They are always spent, and tired. They barely have time for a retreat. They barely find time to rest. It would be great if amidst the busyness, they create time enough to rest. And now, don't we get so busy as believers that we get little or no time to pray? To fellowship with the one who has called us unto himself. This is our focus for today.
"And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed". (Luke 5:16).
The Lord Jesus while on earth had the most busy schedule, and I am certain none of us are as busy as he was. He would preach all day, talk with his disciples, move from one city or village to the other proclaiming the kingdom of God. He would heal the sick, raise the dead, as many who were brought to him, he would attend to them. Out of compassion will minister to the needs of the people whether or not he was tired. He did everything, attended to everyone, and was everywhere he needed to be. He was that busy, and by this, I mean very busy.
In other words, there was no restriction to where he prayed. If it was a solitary place, a mountain, a wilderness, he prayed. He created the time, and it didn't matter the place. You could pray in your office, in your class, in the factory, wherever time permits. It doesn't matter how busy you are, or where you are, how busy I am or where I am. If Jesus the Christ who was more busy than us had time to pray, it is expected that as believers, we are also to withdraw amidst the busyness so we can pray. This is God's message to you, and I today. May the Lord help us to pray indeed. Amen.
Thought for the Day:
In your busyness, create time to pray.
