There's a song that goes thus, what a friend we have in Jesus, all our griefs and sins to bear; what a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer. Have you trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere? You should never be discouraged, take it to the Lord in prayer. Are you weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care? Precious Saviour still our refuge, take it to the Lord in prayer.
These are indeed words that should send a very wonderful message to the believer lifting their hearts from despair. This is because often times the believer becomes weak and heavy laden, doesn't even get to see what a friend he has in Christ Jesus because of the seemingly overwhelming challenge. This therefore is a reminder of that which is truly important that we are to look to Jesus even at such times.
How many who think about the problems they face can solve them themselves? But then, the devil paints to us this idea that the solution to that situation is worrying, and thinking about it. Shall we see that which the scripture says to do even at such times? It is seen below,
"Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need". (Hebrews 4:16).
Suppose you're in need, and having considered carefully when, and how to get it, you still could not find a suitable solution. And while still thinking on what next to do, you came across a store where it was said that rather than worry about that thing, you could get it free from the store, and can always return when ever there's a need. Won't you be glad?
The same thing it is the scripture is saying to us today, that instead of worrying, and thinking about the things we most times do not have solutions to, we are to come even at such times to the one who has the solution we seek. And it says we should come boldly, that is, without any fear that he would turn us down.
Why? So that we may obtain that which we need even at such times. It is a throne of grace, and right there mercy is made available for all, and grace to help in time of need. There's provision for you, healing for you, victory for you, mercy for you, there's grace enough for you all at the throne of grace. Shall we not gladly give heed to this invitation that we may at all times find grace to help in times of need? The Lord help us all. Amen.
