If one is to engage in a building project, one would need all necessary materials, isn't it? There's no way the building will be completed except all materials needed for the construction of the building is provided. There's no way one would want to manage materials, or make do of inferior materials, why? Because for the building to be what it is expected to be, there's the need for sufficient materials. This is important because in building, there's little you can do with limited resources. The limited the resources, the difficult it becomes to complete the building.
It is as though you ask yourself, what can be done with so little? Let's say you attended a party for instance where the total number of persons who attended the party were about three hundred, and the resources available to feed them was so small that it could only be sufficient for twenty persons, what do you think would happen? Quite a number of persons would not get food, right? What could be the sole cause? The fact that the resources available to feed them were limited. This is just the truth, that nothing can be done with so little.
It is however important to note that the way it is outside the kingdom is not the same way it is in God's kingdom. While limited resources may not be enough to carry out huge tasks, in the kingdom, with God, it is just enough. This we will get to see in the passage of the scripture below,
"And the sons of Noah, that went forth of the ark, were Shem, and Ham, and Japheth: and Ham is the father of Canaan. [19] These are the three sons of Noah: and of them was the whole earth overspread". (Genesis 9:18, 19)
There's no resources too small with God. If he can make the world out of nothing, then he can make do with so little. How so? Do you remember how that when Jesus wanted to feed the multitudes that came to listen to him, about five thousand in number, the resources available was very limited? They had just five loaves of bread and two fishes, right? What is that compared to five thousand? Very little, right? Yet they were fed, and and they even had left over. This is a proof that God can do so much even with little.
Shall we take a look at our anchor text for today? After the Lord had caused it to rain on the earth such that every living thing was destroyed, one would have wondered how he was going to preserve the entire human race with just Noah, and his sons, isn't it? That wasn't a problem for him, all he needed was just the three sons, and their wives, and the animals in two(s). The whole earth was replenished just by three people, the three sons of Noah. That was all God needed. Although they were few in number, the earth was overspread through them just the same way five thousand people were fed with five loaves, and two fishes. With God, no resource is too small. He can do something great with just that little you have.
This is the word of God to you today, that nothing is too small for God to do something great with. He can turn that little thing to something big if you would permit him. While it may be impossible for you to do something with very little, in his hands, that little can become great. If he can feed such a large number with something so small, he can magnify the little you have. If with just three people, he could replenish the earth, then what you have is not little. He can magnify even the little you have. May this comfort your heart today. Amen.
Thought for the day:
There's nothing little for God to do something great with. He can do mighty things with the little you have.
