There's the uniqueness in the result seen when two or more persons agree to do a thing. Nothing is able to withstand any endeavour carried out in agreement. If two or more persons agree to do a thing, it will surely yield a very great result. Jesus speaking in Scripture said if two shall agree as touching anything in his name, it shall be done unto them even as they agreed. There's power in agreement, there's power in unity. If one would put a thousand to flight, two will put ten thousand to flight.
This is to show you how it is that agreeing to do a thing as one is that which births great results. You see, if there exist a team for example, say a football team, it will take agreement between all eleven players on the pitch to actually win the game. Once there's disagreement, it hinders them from even performing well. Hallelujah. That which secures the victory is the agreement between them to play not as individuals but as a team. Praise God.
The Scripture makes this clear in the book of Amos chapter three, and in verse three, that two cannot walk together, that is, cannot make anything happen or carry out any important assignment as one except there's an agreement between them. This in every way talks about the fact that unity is very important for two or more persons to achieve any great thing. Shall we examine the passage of Scripture below?
"And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter. [4] And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. [5] And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded. [6] And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do". (Genesis 11:3-6).
If you observe carefully the passage of Scripture above, you would observe that what was used was the statement, let us, meaning it was not just one, but a group of persons. And the statement denotes a system of agreement to do a thing. It means let's agree to make brick, let's agree as one to build a tower. They had unity of purpose, and vision. This was all they needed to achieve that which they desired in their hearts to do.
And this they did. They agreed as one, and that which they agreed to do was not impossible to them in any way. They decided to build a city as one, and this they began to do until the Lord came to observe that which they did. Just look at that which the Lord said concerning the people, he said they were one, that is, united, and they had one language (united), and as a result, nothing could be restrained from them which they had imagined to do. Glory to God.
This therefore means that if we as believers will agree as touching anything, nothing shall be impossible for us. If we will all speak the same language, share the same vision, agree to walk, and work as one not minding our individual differences, fellowship as one, nothing shall be impossible for us. There's power in unity. There's power in agreeing as one. There's power when we decide to do a thing as one. We can do anything in Christ's name when we are united. The Lord help us to agree as one at all times. Amen.
