Biography of Pastor Chris Delvan Gwamna

 

Pastor Chris Delvan Gwemna is a Nigerian singer, song writer, pastor and preacher. He is the founder of Chris Delvan Gwemna Ministries International, a ministry with a mandate to reach the world in line with the Father's instruction to make disciples of all nations until the knowledge of the Lord covers the earth as the waters cover the sea.

Born on the 12^th of December 1960 in Kagoro, Kaduna State, he  graduated from Ahmadu Bello University with a degree in History and political science in the 1980s. Chris Delvan Gwemna is happily married to his heartthrob, Pastor Annie Gwemna, his wife of over thirty years with whom he has two children, Joel and Salamatu.

In his ministry, Pastor Chris Delvan has shown great passion for the northern parts of Nigeria and seeing that God's will is established in the North where he was born and where his ministry is based. The Chris Delvan Gwemna Ministries has different arms like the Arewa Christian Initiatives, The Freshlife Assembly, House of Jeduthun, Methahost Partnerships, The New Life Pastoral Care Centre and Koinonia Cultural Development Centre. Pastor Chris Delvan is the presiding Pastor of The New Life Pastoral Care Centre which aims at modelling an ideal local assembly with the mandate of being an educational centre for nurturing, discipleship, redefinition and revival. The Arewa Christian Initiative was founded by  him for the North. It is a Northern Christian Initiative which is a teaching, building and continuing ministry.

Pastor Chris Delvan is a man whose heart burns for God and is sold out to reaching and blessing people especially the young. On receiving the award, Pastor Chris Delvan said the following golden words which shows where his heart is: “ I take prime interest in people, because I have failed many times but I made it a life goal to ensure that people coming up do not fail. I do all I do casually but seriously  with most influence and this award is a call to come up higher to be the salt and light of the world". From these words, it is clear that Pastor Chris Delvan has set his heart on people and ensuring that his life is a blessing unto many to the glory of God.

At the Award Ceremony of the Institute of Mentoring and Career Coaching Nigeria, IMCCN, his wife, Pastor Annie Gwemna described him as a passionate, sacrificial and selfless man of God who would go any length to ensure that as many broken lives the Lord brings his way are built and given direction for their lives. The President of the International Christian Chamber of Commerce, Architect Gregory Icha who is a very good friend of Pastor Chris also said at the ceremony that Pastor Chris Delvan is a very humble man who truly demonstrates what mentoring is. The Director General of IMCCN, Rotimi Matthew said Pastor Chris Delvan as the recipient of the award was carefully picked because of his meritorious contributions in shaping the lives of many people beyond his immediate ministry. He also mentioned that the ministry of Pastor Chris has influenced countless people and mentored many whom the Pastor himself has never even met. Among many, Pastor Chris Delvan is known to be the spiritual father of Pastor Chingtok Ishaku who served under him for many years before founding his ministry, The God Life Assembly International. The extent of Pastor Chris Delvan's influence and the impact that he has made in the lives of many is fully known by God alone.

The ministry of Pastor Chris Delvan as a singer and song writer has also been a fruitful one. He has released different albums like In The Days of His Power, To The Ends Of The Earth, Sontalk, Newnation. He has also released single songs that have been a great blessing to people and the body of Christ, one of such songs is the popular “You Are The Holy Ghost”. Pastor Chris Delvan  is known for his unique way of singing, his prophetic chant like songs and psalms. He also plays musical instruments and is very good with the guitar. He has ministered with different  Christian ministers and in different Christian programmes including the Inter- Denominational Praise and Worship at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos. He was also one of the guest ministers at the Men of Issachar Vision's Conference in Ibadan which the current Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbanjo was also present. His ministry both in songs and God's word has taken him to different parts of Nigeria and the world.

Pastor Chris Delvan has contributed to the advancement of God's kingdom and has been actively involved in promoting God's agenda in Nigeria and in the world at large. He was involved in the translation of the Revised Standard Version of the Bible into Hausa language for the Bible League of the United States of America and the project was successfully completed in 2003. In 2018, he was listed by YNaija as one of the 100 most influential people in Christian Ministry in Nigeria among many others like Mike Bamiloye, Apostle Joshua Selman, Paul Eneche, and many others.  He was also honoured with an award in 2017 by the Institute of Monitoring Career Coaching Nigeria, MCCN for his great contribution to making the lives of people meaningful.  The life and ministry of Pastor Chris Delvan is indeed one that has impacted many and is still impacting many.
