He is married to fellow music minister Queen Eunice, and the couple have two sons.

Early Life

Chris Morgan Ochogwu was born on May 25, 1978, in Otukpo, Benue State, Nigeria, and hails from Ipole-Igwu, Orokam, in the Ogbadibo Local Government Area of the state. He is the firstborn of nine children, born to Christian and Regina Ochogwu.

Growing up on what he has described as the red, dusty streets of Otukpo, Chris showed musical instincts from early childhood — his mother has said that even as an infant, his crying carried a musical tone. At around age 12, while helping his mother by hawking oranges and groundnuts on the street, he says he had a profound spiritual encounter during a Catholic Charismatic gathering, an experience he has described as lasting three unusual days and shaping the direction of his life. He began writing songs at around age 15, having taught himself keyboard after an early attempt to learn from a local pharmacist who played the instrument was initially rebuffed.

At 16, he relocated to Lagos to pursue music more fully, a decisive turning point that eventually led him into full-time gospel ministry.

Minister Chris Morgan has been in full-time worship ministry since 2005, building a reputation as a multi-instrumentalist skilled on keyboard, drums, and bass guitar, alongside his work as a songwriter, composer, and performer. He is a member of Eezee Concept, a gospel record label whose roster has also included artists such as Mercy Chinwo, Judikay, and GUC.
