Today in our devotion, we are considering a very vital lesson from the Scripture, and that from the book according to Matthew, chapter 10. It records a very important truth that as believers, we need to bear in mind and adhere to this, which in return, gives us that assurance that we are not worthless beings, but that of a truth, the Father values every one of us.
How would you feel when your father affirms to you that you're truly valued even more than he values anyone in the family? You would be filled with joy, won't you? Especially when you've been doubting the fact that he truly values you. A spouse will feel greatly honored when he or she knows how valued they are.
This is that which the Lord through his word seeks to reveal to us today. The fact that we are very much valued by God, and the fact that he considers us very dear to him. We shall consider the passage of scripture below:
"Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. [30] But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. [31] Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows". (Matthew 10:29-31).
The scripture opens with a very important question that shows the value the Lord himself places on the sparrow and the fact that the Lord even takes care of the birds. It is indeed amazing, isn't it? That the Lord cares for that which he created; he cares for his creations.
If God so cares for all his creations, including the sparrow, wouldn't it be worth admitting that he takes care of us as well, and as the peak of his creation, that he holds us in high regard? If the sparrow is being taken care of by the Lord, how much more are you who was created in his image? The scripture says you are worth more value than many sparrows. Oh! Glory to God.
We need to delight in this truth as believers, the Father cares for us; even the very hairs of our heads are all numbered. The Lord values you. If the Lord takes care of the bird, be rest assured he will take care of you too. Why? Because you are of more value to him than many sparrows. May these words from the Lord comfort your hearts today. Amen.
Thought of the Day: If the birds are being taken care of by the Lord, then you are highly valued by him because you are of more value than many sparrows.
