God be praised for he is good and for his mercy endures forever. Today, we shall see from scripture what exhortation that is available for us as believers when we may seem to be faint in heart and while situations may tempt us to do something else than waiting and trusting in God. It is my prayer that the Lord himself would reveal his word to us. Amen. Let's see the passage of scripture below,
"Wait on the Lord : be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord". (Psalm 27:14)
It is hard to wait when options that may seem to be the best present themselves to us. Take for instance, you are in the midst of trouble that may pose very serious harm to your life and when you called on someone who you think could help you almost immediately, he or she said to wait. If you are being honest, would you wait if there are options to flee even if you know that such a person has the power to save you?
The answer is most likely a no. This is the same thing Scripture tells us to do. It tells us to wait on the Lord, and not try to act by ourselves. It says to be of good courage even when the situation seems very fierce and as though no help would come. The instruction is to wait not on man but on the Lord. It means to rely wholly on Him, and never lose faith in Him. It means having the courage you would overcome when he shows up.
If only you would wait, God will strengthen your heart. He will give you faith to overcome your fears. He will give you the confidence to stand firmly, trusting in Him. Are you weary, tired, and fainting? Does the situation look so much unbearable? The exhortation today is to wait on the Lord, be of good courage and he shall strengthen your heart that has been made weak. Wait, I say, on the Lord. God bless his word in our hearts. Amen.
Thought for the Day
Though your heart be weakened by the situation that is, if you would wait on God, and be of good courage, he shall strengthen your heart. Wait on the Lord!
