During the recent festive season, particularly on New Year's Eve, I observed that as Nigeria awaited the transition to a new year, countries such as India, Japan, Singapore, New Zealand, Australia, Seoul, South Korea, etc. had already entered into the beginning of a new year.
This observation highlighted the universal concept of waiting in life. While some countries celebrated the New Year ahead of others due to time zone differences, it emphasised that waiting is a common aspect of various experiences.
The concept of waiting time is a parallel in human life. It's an inevitable aspect where patience becomes crucial. Despite the challenges, as Aristotle noted, the eventual outcome of patience can bring forth sweet fruits. Times and seasons indeed exert a significant influence on our experiences.
Waiting is a shared experience, and everyone encounters it for various reasons. Each individual's journey involves moments of patience and anticipation, contributing to the collective human experience.
The distinction between wanting something and being ready for it is crucial. Waiting often occurs when there's a misalignment between desire and preparedness. For instance, someone may desire a car, yet they might not be financially or practically ready to handle the responsibilities that come with it, such as fueling or maintenance costs.
Certainly, the desire for marriage may exist, but readiness involves more than just age. The timing and suitability of such a significant commitment are often beyond our control, emphasising the role of God's timing in shaping life events.
Indeed, the idea that you can have everything but not all at once holds truth. Life unfolds gradually, and each achievement has its own time. Patience during the waiting period, though challenging, allows for a more fulfilling and enjoyable experience when the right time comes.
Everyone has their own space in life. When the time is right, you'll occupy your space, and those currently enjoying it will make way for your own fulfillment. Life has its way of orchestrating these shifts and changes.
Timing is crucial, and prematurely occupying your space may lead to displacement when the right time arrives. Patience and aligning actions with the appropriate timing increase the likelihood of a more secure and lasting position in your journey.
The phenomenon of celebrities becoming popular prematurely often leads to fleeting fame. Sustained success comes not just from sudden recognition but from a combination of talent, preparation, and timing. Those who rise to stardom too quickly without a solid foundation may find their fame diminishing rapidly.
Having a choice is essential. May you receive the grace to patiently wait for your time. When the right moment arrives, your presence will be unmistakably noticed. It's a reminder that some wishes may not materialise, not because they are unattainable but because one might not yet be prepared for them.
The future remains unpredictable, and timing often lies beyond our control. If it's not your time, acceptance becomes key, recognising that certain aspects of life unfold at their own pace.
"For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end, it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” (Habakkuk 2 vs. 3 NKJV)"
