Putting Faith into Action

Putting faith into action simply means engaging a strong, positive belief in everything that you do. It involves living your life based on the dictates of faith.

God’s word in Hebrews 11:1 rightly defines Faith in itself, as the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen. This may look more confusing because by the current realities in a world filled with constant challenges and temptations, living your faith can be a struggle.

Living out your faith in daily life requires intentionality, commitment and willingness to trust and obey God. This leads us to the crux of this article - How can you live on your faith daily as a believer in Christ?

Listed below, are ways we can achieve this:

1. Have a Relationship with God (Romans 5:8):

The most important thing to do when putting your faith into action is to build a personal relationship with God. You can do this by setting apart some time daily to pray, read and study the Bible and ultimately meditate on God's word. You can also engage other spiritual exercises like fasting and ensure that you make God a priority in your daily routine.

Pray regularly, read and study the Bible, develop a prayer life by praying regularly. Read and Study the Bible to deepen your understanding of God and his people.

2. Obey and Apply Biblical Principles (Psalm 109:105)

Another way to put your faith into action is to apply Biblical principles to your life. You apply these principles through your obedience to God's commands and principles in and out of season, even when it's uncomfortable and challenging. Forgive others as God has forgiven you.

3. Love and serve others

Look for opportunities to love and serve others in need in giving time, money, food, clothes and in ways you can.

4.Surround yourself with Positive Influence

Surround yourself with people who encourage and support your faith.

Do not forsake the assembly of the brethren (Hebrews 10:25). Attend church regularly to worship, learn and connect with other Christians.

Read books and articles that build and challenge your faith (Proverbs 3:9-10).

5. Share your Faith

Look for opportunities to share your faith with others, in evangelism or encouraging someone by sharing your story. Be prepared to answer questions about your faith (1 Peter 3:15).

6. Trust in God

In Psalms 62:8, the New Living Translation (NLT) aptly says “Oh my people, trust in Him at all times. Pour out your heart to Him, for God is our refuge”. There’s no better way to put your faith in action than to believe that God is in control, no matter the circumstances and challenges. Wholly follow God's leading and trust that He will fulfill all his promises to you.

Conclusion

Your faith can be discerned through your actions. There must always be an action that backs your confessions of faith. It is my prayer that God strengthens your faith in him and keeps you in His grace in Jesus’ mighty name.
