Christian Poetry: If Delilah Repents

Samson's locks on her laps;
the birthright of the one
who fell in love with her.

As a farmer goes after weeds,
her manicured hand picked
one lock after another,
a razor to its roots.

Her sonorous voice
called out to him again,
“Samson!
The Philistines are here.”
Unknown to him,
a two minutes nap
was in exchange for his birthright.
A son of God before the idols.

What if Delilah repented?

A visit to Samson
in the prison,
while he grinds the grains;
Words of apology;
Tears of remorse;
A Heart of repentance
and a Delicious meal
for his hungered belly.
