Christian Poetry: Iscariot’s Kiss

In twilight's hush, where shadows play,

A kiss was given, a betrayal's sway,

Iscariot's lips, a Judas' guise,

Deceived the Master, with a traitor's sigh.

With silver's lure, and a heart of stone,

He sealed the fate, of the One alone,

The kiss of death, a symbol of shame,

Forever marked, the disciple's name.

In Gethsemane's garden, dark and cold,

The kiss was given, the story unfold,

A moment's choice, a lifetime's regret,

Iscariot's kiss, a wound that won't forget.

Yet, in the darkness, a light did shine,

The love of Jesus, forever divine,

For even in betrayal, He showed His heart,

A love that forgives, and never departs.

Thou Iscariot, female or male

See to it that with just a Kiss we have a tale

Of beautiful salvation for mankind

And for every betrayal comes a spring of might

The kiss of Iscariot, a lesson to us all,

Of the dangers of greed, and a heart that would fall,

But also of the love, that Jesus shows to men,

A love that's stronger, than any kiss of sin.
