Christian Poetry: Onion

Darker than Rapunzel's,
is her tailbone length hair.

Mary Kay did it;
concealer for her freckles,
pink parfait gloss for her chapped lips.

Clinged to her mortal bare body, Angeline lingerie,
layered by Adire from Ìyá Orire alaaso-òkè of Ẹgba land,
fit into her desired two-pieces attire by Debby stitches.

Rested on her malleoli, Eddie Herringbone gold anklets,
to announce her presence.

Louboutin red-bottom heels to conceal her cracked feet.

Mossmon peacock crystal clutch,
empty of Naira notes.

If only her soul could be reached, stripping off these layers;
a layer of fear to see,
a layer of hopelessness revealed,
and a heart that yearns for life.
