In Massachusetts, Baptist preacher Obadiah Holmes was publicly whipped for teaching Baptist beliefs, a stark demonstration of religious intolerance in colonial America.

On this day, Nicholas Bhekinkosi Hepworth Bhengu was in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Bhengu emerged as a towering figure in the Assemblies of God movement, launching the impactful “Back to God Crusade” and championing Pentecostal revival, holiness, and spiritual empowerment across southern Africa.
