Role Overview
The Community Manager will serve as the bridge between our content, our audience, and the wider Christian community. You will be responsible for building, engaging, and nurturing a thriving online and offline community of believers and seekers. The role combines digital strategy, audience engagement, brand building, and pastoral sensitivity to ensure our platforms are not just media outlets but living communities of faith.
Key Responsibilities
As a Community Manager at The New Man Media, your responsibilities include:
1. Community Engagement & Growth
- Build, grow, and manage the online community across social platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, TikTok, YouTube, WhatsApp, Telegram, etc.)
- Develop and implement strategies to foster active engagement, meaningful conversations, and Christ-centered interactions.
- Organize and manage community activities (e.g., Bible study groups, live Q&A sessions, prayer circles, online events, webinars).
- Respond promptly, respectfully, and empathetically to comments, messages, and inquiries.
2. Content Support & Amplification
- Work closely with the content team to distribute articles, podcasts, videos, and devotionals in a way that maximizes reach and engagement.
- Source user-generated content (testimonies, devotionals, questions) to feature on platforms.
- Collaborate with creative teams to design community-driven campaigns (e.g., scripture challenges, prayer campaigns, testimonies).
Brand Advocacy & Influence
• Act as the voice of the company within the community, ensuring all communication aligns with Christian values and brand tone.
• Build relationships with pastors, influencers, and partner ministries to expand reach and deepen impact.
• Monitor conversations around the brand and broader Christian topics to inform strategy.
Analytics & Reporting
• Track and analyze engagement metrics, community growth, sentiment, and feedback.
• Provide monthly reports with actionable insights to guide community and content strategies.
Qualifications & Skills
We require and prefer that the candidate possesses the following
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Media Studies, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, online communities, and digital engagement trends.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (with fluency in English; knowledge of Nigerian Pidgin or local languages is a plus).
- Demonstrated experience in community management, preferably for a media or faith-based organization.
- Strong interpersonal skills with empathy, discernment, and cultural sensitivity.
- A practicing Christian with sound knowledge of scripture and the ability to engage faith-based conversations appropriately.
- Experience with social media management tools (Hootsuite, Buffer, Later, etc.).
- Knowledge of SEO, AEO, and basic content marketing strategies.
- Graphic design or video editing skills (basic level).
- Event management experience (both online and offline).
