Renowned gospel music and worship minister Theophilus Sunday has marked a major milestone in his family as he celebrated his son’s first birthday on Monday, 27th April, 2026.
Minister Theophilus Sunday is a Nigerian gospel minister and worship leader who is widely known for his deep, spirit-filled chants and revival ministrations across Africa and beyond.
Minister Theophilus, who got married to his wife Ashlee, on the 13th of April, 2024, surprised the internet when he unveiled pictures and video of their baby boy for the first time to commemorate the occasion. The announcement stunned many in the Christian community, as there had been no prior public knowledge of the couple welcoming a child.
In a heartfelt message shared on social media, Minister Theophilus Sunday dedicated his son to God, writing:
“God’s Mystery! happy birthday son, The God of your father is your God and only him will you serve.”
A video clip also showed the one-year-old watching his father minister on TV. Photos from the celebration showed the couple smiling with their son, prompting an outpouring of congratulatory messages from members of the body of Christ, and fellow ministers.
