We have all felt it before, and probably still do. Fear is arguably one of the most universal, deeply human experiences we share. It sneaks in via various ways, as fear of failure, fear of losing someone we love, or simply the heavy weight of the unknown.
But reading through the Bible, you’ll notice God constantly pushing back against this very natural human instinct. Time and time again, to ordinary people who were facing literal armies, massive storms, and impossible odds, He repeats the same instruction: “Do not be afraid.”
You’ve probably heard it said that there are 365 "fear not" verses in the Bible—one for every single day of the year. While the exact number fluctuates depending on the translation you're reading or how you look at it, the heart of the message is undeniable. God knows our tendency to panic, and He wants to replace it with courage. Not a fake, "positive thinking alone" kind of courage, but a deep, resilient peace rooted in the fact that He is with us.
