Apostle Emmanuel Iren, founder and lead pastor of Celebration Church International (CCI) and current President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) Youth Wing, is set to release a new feature film titled *Meltdown*, scheduled for worldwide streaming on July 24, 2026. Pre-orders are already open at watchmeltdown.com.
The film is produced under Narrative Entertainment, the production outfit that has become the vehicle for Iren's growing body of faith-informed cinematic work. With a cast assembled from across Nigeria's A-list acting talent, *Meltdown* is shaping up as one of the more anticipated Christian film releases from Nigeria this year.
What to Expect
Promotional materials for *Meltdown* pose a pointed question to prospective viewers: "How much pressure can one person take?" — teasing an emotionally charged narrative that appears to explore the breaking points of human endurance, relationships, and the weight of overwhelming circumstances.
The film features an impressive ensemble Nollywood cast: Timini Egbuson, Efa Iwara, Bucci Franklin, Omowunmi Dada, Olumide Oworu, Jemima Osunde, Darasimi Ogbe'tah, and Eso Dike. The official poster presents the cast against contrasting blue and red backgrounds — a visual shorthand for the tension and conflict expected throughout the story.
Full plot details have not yet been released, though the film's central question and cast dynamics suggest a drama that will navigate personal crisis, difficult choices, and the limits of what people can bear before something — or someone — breaks.
A Preacher with a Director's Eye
*Meltdown* is the latest entry in what has become a serious creative portfolio for Apostle Iren, who has been deliberate about building a case for why the Church belongs in filmmaking.
Born Emmanuel Aniefiok Iren on December 18, 1989, in Akwa Ibom State, the pastor grew up in Lagos and completed his secondary education at Doregos Private Academy before earning a Bachelor's degree in Building Technology from Covenant University in 2011 and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Lagos. He began his ministry in 2008 as an undergraduate at Covenant University, founding a campus fellowship called Triumphal Youth Fellowship that quickly outgrew its campus setting. On November 11, 2012, he officially launched Life Triumphal Church in Ikotun, Lagos — which was renamed Celebration Church International in 2014.
Today, CCI has over 100,000 members and more than 30 branches across Nigeria, the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States. Beyond the local church, he also oversees the Manifest Bible Course, an interdenominational Bible training school, and Triumph30, a daily devotional platform spanning denominations. He is also the founder and principal songwriter of Outburst Music Group, a Christian record label with albums *Kerygma* (2017), *Octane* (2020), and *Apostolos: Sounds of Transition* (2022) to its name. He is the author of four books: *Leading Seeks You*, *Purposefully*, *Saving Grace*, and *Am I Being Fooled?*
On June 11, 2025, he was inaugurated as President of the PFN Youth Wing — a position he is expected to hold for four years — with Apostle Femi Lazarus, Reverend Ohis Ojeikere, Pastor Daniel Olawande, and Pastor Oge C. serving on the Executive Council alongside him.
His foray into film began publicly with *Nigerian Son* (2020) and came into full view with the 2024 debut of *What About Us?* — a marriage drama he executive produced under Narrative Entertainment, which premiered in July 2024 and explored the quiet drift that can happen in a family that looks picture-perfect from the outside. The film was noted as a particularly personal project: Iren has spoken openly about following the creative path forged by his wife, Pastor Laju Iren — herself an author and filmmaker — and about why he believes filmmaking is not a distraction from ministry but an extension of it.
"Any church that is concerned with culture formation has to go to the place where that culture formation happens," he said in a 2024 interview with TVC. "Don't be stereotypical, because when God said, 'Go ye into all the world,' He was specific about the message, not necessarily the method. As long as disciples are being raised by that platform, you should be interested in it."
He also revealed at the time that *What About Us?* was one of three films he shot in a single year — suggesting that *Meltdown* has been in the pipeline for some time and is arriving as part of a broader, sustained creative output.
*Meltdown* streams worldwide from July 24, 2026. Pre-orders are open at watchmeltdown.com.
