A member of Temple of Glory Abuja, Gentle Ekitok, has shared a video purportedly showing the demolition of the church by officials of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA).
In a post shared on Facebook, Ekitok alleged that church members were inside the building when the demolition took place.
“We were in Church only for The Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) to come demolish our Church Temple of Glory Abuja,” he wrote alongside the video.
The video has since attracted attention online, with social media users reacting to the reported incident and raising questions about the circumstances surrounding the demolition.
However, details regarding the reason for the FCDA’s action remain unclear. It is also not immediately known whether the church had received prior notice, whether there were disputes over planning or development approvals, or what specific grounds the authority relied upon for the demolition.
The video shared by the church member, on its own, does not establish the official reason for the FCDA’s action and as at the time of this report, further clarification from the FCDA or the leadership of Temple of Glory Abuja has not been obtained to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
