Warm tributes have continued to pour in from across the Christian community as Archbishop Margaret Benson-Idahosa, Presiding Archbishop of Church of God Mission International (CGMi), celebrated her 83rd birthday.
The week-long celebration drew heartfelt messages from family members, spiritual children, church leaders, government officials, and well-wishers around the world, all honouring the life and ministry of the renowned preacher. Her children, including Ranti Idahosa and Laurie Idahosa, paid glowing tributes, describing her as a woman of remarkable courage, wisdom, faith, and unwavering commitment to God’s work.
Church members also gathered to celebrate the respected cleric, thanking God for her decades of faithful service in ministry, leadership, education, and raising generations of Christian leaders. In her birthday message, Archbishop Idahosa expressed gratitude to God, writing, “Thank You, Jesus! Eighty-three years of God’s faithfulness to me and my family.”
Born on July 29, 1943, Archbishop Margaret Benson-Idahosa became Africa’s first female Pentecostal Archbishop. Following the passing of her husband, the late Archbishop Benson Idahosa, she assumed leadership of Church of God Mission International, expanding its global reach while preserving its vision of evangelism, discipleship, and Christian service. She also serves as Chancellor of Benson Idahosa University and remains one of Africa’s most influential Christian leaders.
