Apostle Arome Osayi has told Nigerians that political campaigns and voters’ cards alone will not bring about the change they desire in the country.
Osayi made the statement on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, while speaking at the Redeeming Seasons, Sounds of Truth Conference in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Speaking about Nigerians already campaigning ahead of the next election, the preacher said the country’s challenges go beyond political mobilisation and the electoral process.
“I know most of you are campaigning. There is no amount of campaign you do that will change the current structure of things in the next election. You are campaigning. No amount. Your voter’s card will not change anything,” he said.
Osayi further described Nigeria as a nation in need of healing, stressing that meaningful change would remain difficult without addressing what he considers to be deeper problems affecting the country.
“The land is sick. If it’s not healed, there can be no change,” he said.
He also criticised what he described as misplaced attention and misplaced trust among Nigerians, saying, “You are looking at the wrong things, trusting the wrong people.”
The apostle went on to describe the present period as a “day of judgment”, warning that both politicians and preachers could face consequences in the years ahead.
“Many will be cut off, politicians and preachers will be cut off in the next five years,” he said.
Osayi’s remarks have since generated reactions online, particularly his comments concerning political campaigns and the ability of the electoral process to change the country’s existing structure.
His comments come amid growing political conversations ahead of Nigeria’s next general election, with political supporters and various interest groups already engaging in campaigns and mobilisation activities.
