There is nothing more reassuring than to hear someone say you can count on him or her on any day, and at any time, right? That gives you the rest your heart desires, and makes you feel safe, isn't it? Imagine you could just call a friend when indeed you're in a very difficult situation, and he doesn't make you wait for days before getting to answer the call when by the time it's possible you would have been affected so badly by such a situation. It is therefore a wonderful privilege.
You see, more than anyone else, God is always, and will forever be willing to listen when indeed you call on him. It doesn't matter when or in what circumstance, the truth remains that you can always be confident in his ability to help you at all times.
The Lord speaks to you, and me in the most reassuring way possible. This I believe he says to make you, and I understand the fact that more than anyone would want to help us at times when we pass through certain things, he is ever ready to help us. The scripture is seen below,
"And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me." (Psalm 50:15).
What is this wanting to explain to us? You see, there are times we may have to go through certain situations as believers, and it may be a trying situation, that which no man can help us with.
However, that's not the point with this, and that's not what the Lord wants us to know. He is not so much as concerned about the situation as he is concerned about our ability to trust him to help us and deliver us from such overwhelming situations when we call on him.
And call on me in the day of trouble (seek my help whenever there's a situation above your strength; when all seems dark and dreary, and you're on all sides discouraged, and hopeless about the situation):
I will deliver you (I will bring you out of the situation no matter what it is, I will give you the victory you seek), and thou shalt glorify me (and you will get to rejoice in me, and give me the praise for the things I will do for you).
Isn't this encouraging? That at times when we feel weak, and there seems to be none to help even in the most trying situation, the Lord says to call, and he will deliver. May we by his grace do as he has commanded in his word. Amen.
