5 Ways to Know that God Cares for You like the Shepherd and his sheep

Does God really care for me? This is a lifetime question both the saved and the unsaved ask at one point or the other in life. To some, it may seem like an ordinary question, but to others, the meaning may go even deeper. So again, does God really cares about you? Yes, he does, and there are several ways he shows and keeps showing his love for us daily.

1. He sent His only Son to Die

Even while we were yet sinners, he sent His only son to die for us, so that we might not only be free but also attain eternal life. In the world we live today, it is almost impossible for any man to choose to be punished for another not to talk of someone dying for others for the sin he has no portion in. This is exactly what the son of God did and because of Him today, we can come unto God and say "Abba, my father" This is the greatest love of all.

2. He Provides Comfort

There are certain moments in our life where we get to what seems like a barrier in our life in business, academics, marriage, and career and it seems as if no one understands or cares about what we are going through. But this is not true, because in Philippians 6 vs7 the Bible told us to "be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

That is no matter the anxiety that comes with everyday life, the nagging boss, the looming dead-end, obstacles, and challenges, we can be sure that someone is there for us who cares for us now and always, and he is ever ready to listen to us if only we will come unto him.

3. God Protects You

No human vice can safeguard any man. Even if you have the best security guards in the world or some of the most advanced technological equipment specially designed for security, they won't protect your life.

On the 8th of July, 2022, when former Japanese minister, Shinzo Abe, a man of power, global influence, and authority was shot dead in the street, he was surrounded by lots of specially trained security agents and supporters and maybe lovers but yet, it didn't stop the bullet from the homemade firearm from hitting and subsequently killing him. No man is safe outside the safety that God can provide. Even when it seems we are at the end of it all, He will always come through. Hebrew 13:6 made us understand that "The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; he knows those who take refuge in him.”

4. He Gives Hope

God is our strength and hopes amid the storms and chaos in the world. God told Joshua that "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” This assurance is not just for the men of the old or the Jews or Israelites. This is a word of assurance for us all, who have been called into the household of God. In Him, there is hope and liberty.

Outside Christ, no name has been given by which any man can be saved or hope for eternal life. Only in God, can we find this hope. The world also gives hope but it is a hope that usually comes with a sacrifice. It will surely cost you something, that is if they don't eventually disappoint us. But the hope God gives is not just everlasting He will never fail us.

5. God Patiently Draws us Closer

Just like any loving father would do to whom he loves, God draws us closer to him every day. He is always eager to fellowship and listen to us. He wants us to know him more through his teachings and be able to live a life that the world would not be able to comprehend. A life of consecration that even while we are in sin, we can always ask for his forgiveness and He would draw us back into His blossom. Into His undying love.

Conclusion

No man can love us the way God did. Not even family, friends, and colleagues because God is the true definition of love - An undying love in good and bad times, in abundance and scarcity, in joy and sorrow. All we just have to do is choose to draw closer to Him every day just as He wants to draw closer to us.
