Christian Fiction: Unashamed of the Gospel by Ajayi Oluwabusayo Rebecca

Isaac, have you thought about what we discussed? Tade asked as we both sat in the lecture hall. He was my lab partner in 100 Level and was of great help to me back then and we remained friends. I wasn't a Christian when we met, maybe that was why he never believed I changed. I already told you what you're asking for is impossible, I am the evangelism team coordinator at my fellowship and these people look up to me, how would they react when they find out their so-called leader stole the exam papers, you can't expect me to compromise my belief for this, it's a no-go area for me. The people around turned their heads that was when I realized I had raised my voice. Isaac you and I know your struggles in this course, and it will only take a miracle for you to pass this course, I don't know what has come over you, I asked you because  I know  Mr. Peter trusts you, his desperation showed but I knew I wasn't going to help them in any way. I looked at him and stood up preparing to leave, "then a miracle needs to happen, bye Tade I need to go" I said as walked away.

Christian Fiction: Unashamed of the Gospel by Ajayi Oluwabusayo Rebecca

Today was for Evangelism. I walked around with my Bible as I approached students, some were outrightly rude while some just passed by. I was praying to God to give me the hearts of these people, I wanted them to listen to the good news, to see the light I had seen. I was able to talk to two people and I took down their details thanking God for their souls. My mum had called earlier reminding me of the birthday party my uncle was throwing for his first daughter, she just completed her doctorate. I was the eldest of all the grandchildren but I was just in my final year, his last child was also in his final year, mechanical engineering. I didn't want to go down memory lane today, medical laboratory science was a very hectic course and I had a lot of reading to do.
"This semester's exams are fast approaching, I hope you all are prepared and I wish you the best of luck," the lecturer said as he went out of the class. I saw Tade outside with his friends, "Jesus boy" he said laughing and they joined him. I walked away ignoring them as I went o my next class.
Finally, classes for this semester were over, exam week was just around the corner, I never had it rough as I had this semester. I bent my head in prayers as I asked for strength. There was a knock on the door and I told the person to come in, slightly annoyed to be disturbed. Rebecca entered with a smile on her face, she was a very beautiful girl of average height, we started dating last semester after we got the permission of the marriage committee, I was so glad she accepted me despite my poor state.Today however, she was looking different. she wore a skirt that wasn't anywhere near her knees and I couldn't help but notice her cleavages. I quickly went outside and beckoned on her to do the same as I closed the door."Hi Becca, you look different" I said with a puzzled look on my face, don't you like it? she asked twirling." of cause I don't, you and I know that it is wrong to wear clothes that expose our bodies this way." well I do not think it wrong to be admired and I don't want to listen to your preachings today. I came to talk to you about the anatomy exam, Tade told me you refused his offer. Isaac, we performed poorly in our tests even though we read and you know this is a compulsory course, it's not like we plan to bring it in we just need the questions to prepare ahead. I was at loss for words, I wanted to make her see reasons with me, she was my support system and I didn't want her against me. "We already agreed that we would study harder, besides we have a better understanding of it now and I know that we would do well",I replied holding her hands. "I know you wouldn't yield, and I hope you won't regret this holier-than-thou behavior, don't I also go to church? well, I'm done with this conversation and with you, I stayed with you all this while cause I didn't want others to find out about who I really am and I knew you would be foolish enough to believe me but I can't continue like this". I watched her walk away in shock, what just happened? the students passing cast curious stares at me, I walked into my room fighting my tears along with every emotion I felt.
This is the first time since I believed that I felt this way about my faith, almost all my coursemates despise me right now, the ones I thought were also christians and would understand keep on avoiding me, I wished I wasn't close to MrPeter, I haven't been able to concentrate on my studies, and to worsen it, Becca hasn't been picking my calls. "all these shouldn't get to you, if Becca decides to leave you because of this, I think it's for the best, the devil wants to see your faith fail and the situation has so far helped you know who is really for you", I heard the holy spirit say. You don't understand, she is the Rebecca to my Isaac, I prayed and fasted before receiving a confirmation from God, why then will he allow her to leave me? Jeremiah 29;11 popped into my head and I knelt beside my bed asking God for strength, after praying I sat down at my desk and continued reading.
Thank you mum, I said before the call disconnected. my mum had just finished praying for me as it was her manner on every first day of my exams, she did this every semester since I gained admission. Graduating with first-class honors has always been my dream alongside hers, I had stopped thinking about the incident with Rebecca, but I wondered if they were successful with their plans.
The exam period came and went, Becca was seen around with some guys who were always up to no good, and she also stopped coming to church. She was always in my prayers, I didn't want it to be too late before she realized her mistakes.
The results were released at the beginning of the second semester, I had a distinction in the course and 6 others. Tade and his cohorts failed which meant an extra year for them all, it turned out that the papers they stole were one of the few submitted for consideration and it was later dropped.

I was busy with school and church activities and we had  just concluded our crusade tagged "me for Christ"it was a life-changing experience for a lot of people including me. I applied for a master's program with a full scholarship at the University of Oxford after much prayers and consideration. My final project was time consuming but I made sure to evangelize on Wednesdays and Fridays, some converts had started coming to church and I the others who just needed more prayers and encouragement and It made me happy every time I saw them. evangelism was very important to me cause my salvation changed the direction of my life.

"Shall we all rise as we take the closing prayer?" I said as the over ten thousand youths sitting stood and we ended the conference, it was the first we held since I came back to Nigeria. I didn't know my life could become an inspiration to anyone. The "all for Christ" movement started in my second year at Harvard, we were only 12 and we held our meetings in empty lecture rooms available, I recall how a lot of people thought that 12 young people walking around with fliers talking about something they couldn't see with so much enthusiasm was very funny.

The joy I felt when we had our first meeting in a hall and it was filled up was immeasurable, I was doing the very thing I wanted to do; make sure Jesus was the name on every lip. we had 12 meetings scheduled in 12 different countries in Africa and I couldn't help but think we were just getting started.

  18. The lack of quotation marks at the beginning is a bit weird. It's a bit jam-packed and with a typical storyline. But nice work altogether 👍🏾
