The Power of Preparation

It is a quite sad that many believers in our world today are some of the most lazy and unproductive people in our society. This is an unfortunate truth and more bitter to hear is the fact that most of such unproductive and lazy Christians are so under the guise of spiritual exercises such as prayer, fasting, Word Study, church attendance etc.

The Power of Preparation

Some have also continued in their laziness while seeking cover in the many systems of advantage in the Kingdom of God such as Grace, favour, mercy etc

There's no such thing as luck. There is no lucky lady or guy out there. Nobody is lucky by default. Unfortunately, Christians who are supposed to do exploits in life have left their lives to chances, believing that 'What is theirs will surely come to them". Some also say, "If it is the will of God it'll surely come to me"... These are quite irresponsible statements.

The Bible in Romans 8:19 affirms that the world awaits other manifestation of the children of God to be revealed. This Unveiling that the world awaits does not just happen by chance or default. While the world awaits your Unveiling and manifestation is you must understand that, you must be PREPARED ADEQUATELY for the manifestation

The fact that the world is waiting for your manifestation is an attestation that, there's the need for preparation on your side as an individual.. Nothing just happens! You have a role to play in ensuring that, the world's waiting of your manifestation comes to pass!

What then is Preparation?

  • Preparation is the process of getting something ready for use or for a particular purpose or making arrangements for something.
  • Preparation is the action or process of making something ready for use or service or of getting ready for some occasion, test, or duty.
Per the above two definitions of preparation, we understand that, before we see the manifestation of things or somone, that thing or person have to be made ready for that manifestation. Now, the question - does God's word encourage us to make preparations in life?

[Put first things first.] *Prepare your work outside and get it ready for yourself in the field;* and afterward build your house and establish a home.
Proverbs 24:27 AMPC

I love this version because the premise says "First things first”. It then proceeds to say, Prepare your work outside and get it READY. This literally means that before you start claiming manifestation, make sure you have put enough preparation in place.

Don't be envious about other's manifestation, prepare yourself also for your day of manifestation

Abraham Lincoln once said `I will prepare and some day my chance will come'

This statement strikes me so much. That means he saw the manifestation of others, but he wasn't worried about it, he also will prepare and knows that his chance will come "

It is important for you to prepare for everything you expect to see working and manifesting in your life.

Note that, in this life, nothing just happens. Behind everything happening or working is someone who is making those things to happen or work..

You may be Anointed, gifted, financially sound, but it does not exempt you from preparing for the manifestation of the destiny that the Lord Jesus Christ has designed for you.

Unfortunately, nobody can make your preparations for you. Not even your parents. The preparations for your manifestation in life is your sole responsibility as a Christian.

Preparation is when you become ready for what you desire. What do you desire in life? What preparations are you making to ensure you have what you desire?

So Jotham became mighty, because he prepared his ways before the LORD his God.
2 Chronicles 27:6 KJV

👆Many people will only see the Greatness of Jotham, but only few will see his preparation that led to it

Let's conclude by drawing lessons from two characters from the Bible..

1.The Lord Jesus Christ

2. David

Acts 13:36
[36] *For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God*, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:

In the life of David, many people usually talk about only the manifestation of David (killing of Goliath) but forget about his preparation that made him ready for such a manifestation. David didn't just wake up one day and killed Goliath. No! He had moments of preparation that made him ready for what transpired between him and Goliath that led to his manifestation

HOW DID DAVID PREPARE FOR HIS DAY OF MANIFESTATION?

We have all read stories about the life of David - especially his humble beginnings where he had to take care of the fathers flock. In 1st Samuel 17:32-34, the Bible records that David told Saul to stay calm while he goes to fight Goliath, the Philistine. In response, Saul said to David, Thou art not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him: for thou art but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.

[34]And David said unto Saul, *Thy servant kept his father's sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock:*

It is important to note here that, although Saul only saw David to be a young boy, he didn't know that David's season of preparation took place while he was tending his fathers sheep. Saul questioned David's ability to fight with Goliath. Meanwhile, he never knew David was on the wilderness keeping the flocks and fighting with wild animals who are scarier than Goliath..

In 1st Samuel 17:35-37
[35]And I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and smote him, and slew him. [36]Thy servant slew both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he hath defied the armies of the living God. [37]David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the LORD be with thee.

Looking at verse 36, David said based on the preparations and the things I've gone through at the wilderness with my father's flock, I can face Goliath.

*HOW PREPARED YOU ARE ALSO for the day of your MANIFESTATION?

Let's look at the Lord Jesus Christ himself in Luke 4:1-2 KJV. Here, we read that Jesus, being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.

Here, the wilderness is the place for training and preparation

After Jesus Christ has gone through his prayer and fasting which was his own preparation, Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: *and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about. (See Luke 4:14 KJV)

Until he was drawn by the Spirit of God to stay for the 40 days and nights, the verse 14 wouldn't have been written about him.. After his preparation, see what happened.. His fame spread throughout the regions through his emphasis was not on the fame

Mark 1:37 KJV
And when they had found him, they said unto him, *All men seek for thee.*

All men begun to seek for the Lord Jesus Christ after his preparation for his manifestation..

HOW PREPARED ARE YOU IN THIS LIFE?

Finally, let's look at the areas of our lives to make preparations

1. Spiritual Lives

2. Marital and Relationship lives

3. Financial lives

4. Purpose and Destiny..

Ask yourself these questions.

How prepared am I towards my marriage or relationship? You're waiting to be gotten married to, what are you doing during this period of waiting? It's the time for adequate preparation? What are the preparations you're making towards the impact you want to make in your world? It won't just happen, prepare for it.. The day of manifestation will surely come!

When you read the biographies of the great people we celebrate today, you would discover that they are all products of the preparation they made which has now brought them this far. Every man or woman doing exploits in the kingdom of God today had spent  time preparing adequately for that manifestation. Do not be in a haste to manifest. Avoid pre-mature manifestation by staying to build and prepare yourself.

Conclusion

Dear reader, the world awaits your manifestation. The world does not yet know what God has deposited in you. They are waiting to see it, so ensure that you don't disappoint God and your destiny. Take courage, prepare and some day, your manifestation will come.

Everyone has a great destiny in Christ. There's nobody here as I said who has an advantage more than another. God doesn't have favorites. We are all his favorite, but to see the manifestation of that great Destiny in you, you have to prepare yourself for it. Spend time and develop yourself. Your day of manifestation becomes closer as you prepare yourself.
