Living Life as a Puzzle

Have you ever played a puzzle game?

According to Wikipedia, a puzzle is a game, toy, or problem designed to test ingenuity or knowledge. It is also a thing or person that is difficult to understand or explain.

In a puzzle, the one who solves it is expected to put pieces together in a logical way to arrive at a correct or fun solution to the puzzle. The only tips to gaining victory are to be patient, focused, determined, and persevere to the end. The one who gives up in between can never be called a winner.

Life can be portrayed as a puzzle. It is difficult to understand or explain. A hopeless and difficult situation might look messy or impossible to solve, but when it gets fixed, it ends up looking amazing—once impossible but now possible.

For every game played, there is always a lesson to learn. Every step taken in life is like a puzzle, and we learn from it. Every pain, difficulty, or struggle we experience in life is a wonderful teacher.

One writer put it this way: "There are no mistakes in life, only lessons. There is no such thing as a negative experience; only opportunities exist to grow, learn, and advance along the road of self-mastery. From struggle comes strength. Every pain could be a wonderful teacher."

Here’s the most interesting part: when the puzzle maker (which is life) makes a puzzle, the puzzler (who is God) solves or arranges everything life presents as a puzzle. Life is a battle; we never know what the next puzzle is; only God knows what the next puzzle is, and He is always ready to arrange or solve the puzzle. All we need to do is trust in Him.

Challenges, trials, and problems are part of life, and no human being, whether rich or poor, educated or uneducated, is exempt from them. The Bible tells us, "A man that is born of a woman is of a few days and full of trouble" (Job 14:1).

If there is no challenge in life, then there is no reason to exercise faith in God. Challenges sometimes occur to help us grow and to build our faith in God.

The lesson here is that, in the face of challenges, we should show determination, perseverance, and unwavering faith in God. Failure should not stop us or discourage us from trying again. We must be focused and not look for alternative solutions, which is the bane of our faith in this generation.

Finally, instead of worrying, sit back and enjoy the game. Leave the puzzle to the puzzler; he will fix the mess, and when he is done, your mess will become your message!
