How to Trust God's Timing (Is God's Time Truly the Best)

It can be hard to trust God's timing when you're eager to see things happen in your life. But remember that God's time is the best and he has a greater plan in store for you. The book of Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, " To every thing there is a season , and a time to every purpose under heaven." God's timing is the concept that God has a specific plan and purpose for each person , and he will bring it to pass in his perfect timing . This timing is different from ours and not knowing this fact can lead to worry and doubt especially in the season of waiting . We all want good things to happen in our lives , but most times we want it to happen immediately. When this does not happen, we begin to ask God ' why'. We need to grow in the area of trusting God's timing instead of questioning him. The book of Genesis tells us how Joseph , who waited many years for the fulfilment of the dream God had given him . He was falsely accused and imprisoned before the time came for him to do what God had shown him to do. He eventually became the second most powerful person in Egypt. He was able to save his family from famine and bring them into a place of safety and abundance. God's timing was perfect in the life of Joseph even when it didn't seem like it at that time.

As christians, we need to understand the timings and seasons God has ordained for our lives .

There are several facts about God's timing that will help us understand that he has a bigger plan for our lives.

1. God knows exactly when to bring about change and transformation in our lives. God uses difficult circumstances in our lives to refine us. This process is often painful and uncomfortable but it makes us more stronger and resilient.

2. God's timing is sovereign because he is the creator and ruler of the universe . Everything is under his control which includes the things that happen in our lives. When nothing makes sense, we can trust in his sovereign timing . His timing is perfect even when we cannot see it.

3. God's timing is different from our expectations . We only have a limited perspective, but God sees everything . Sometimes our plans may not be in line with God's purposes for our lives and then God decides to delay what he has for us because he is waiting for the perfect time. Delay is not denial.

4. God uses our waiting period for our benefits ; to build our character and faith in him. When we feel tested and stretched, we should learn to trust and grow in these moments . God's waiting period is necessary to make us ready for each phase of our lives or to prepare us for what is ahead.

5. God's timing is never out of control . The book of proverbs 16:9 says, " The heart of man plans his way, but the lord establishes his steps". This explains that even though we plan out our lives, it is God that is ultimately in control and he is in big picture.

When you fully understand that God is faithful and in control, you can trust his timing. Here are a few ways on how to trust God's timing.

1. Constantly Read God's Word

The Bible is full of stories of people who waited on God and saw his faithfulness . Abraham waited for the promise of his son, Isaac , but God fulfilled his promise in his perfect timing. Hannah in the bible also was unable to have children, and she spent many years praying and trusting God for a child. She was mocked and ridiculed by everyone. Eventually God remembered her and gave her a son, Samuel. Hannah's story encourages us to trust that God's time is the best.Reading the bible can help you trust that God is at work and gives you a greater perspective on God's promises for your life.

2. Walk in Faith

God is always on time,so you have to exercise a strong faith in the lord. The Bible says, " Now faith is the substance of things hoped for , the evidence of things not seen." ( Hebrews 11:1) . Choose to believe that God is faithful even when you do not understand his ways . Mediate on God's promises to help you overcome your doubts and fears, and help you build your faith in God. Also surround yourself with believers who can encourage you . It is important to have a company of people who can help you to stay in the faith when life gets tough . They can pray for you, advice you and also keep you accountable.

3. Have a heart of gratitude; look for things to be grateful for.

1st Thessalonians 5:16 - 18 says, " Rejoice always, pray continually , give thanks in all circumstances ; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus ".

God has called you to give thanks and this includes both big and small things. Giving thanks helps to fight every lie the devil is trying to tell you . Difficult situations might drain you at times but it is important to know that God is always on time. Make sure to practice daily thanksgiving and also take out time to write down the things you're grateful for. This will strength your heart and help you to focus on the positive instead of the negative.

4. Pray to God for help during your waiting season.

While God does not always work in the timing that we want, persistent prayer leads to more fruitful things than you can ever imagine. God hears your prayers .He is working out the plan and all you have to do is to wait on him in the place of prayer. Psalm 27:14 says, " Wait in the lord , be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart, wait, I say, on the lord". You can also pray to God using the scriptures .

5. Be confident about God's intentions for your life

The Bible tells us that, " For I know the thoughts that I think toward you , saith the lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. " ( Jeremiah 29:11) Knowing that God has good intentions for us can give us the confidence to trust his timing.

6. Don't worry about the future . Instead of worrying about the future , try to live in the present moment and trust that God is working in your life .

7. Submit to God and let his will be done. It is necessary to fully trust his will for our lives.

God makes everything beautiful in his own time and his timing is perfect. Sometimes because we are impatient, we tend to miss out on God's timing for our lives. This might be a bad thing because we can go out of his will for our lives.

Conclusion

God's timing for everything that happens in our lives is the best. You should choose to trust God during challenging situations because even if it takes many years, it will surely come to pass. If it is the will of God, it is bound to happen. God is never late. Although it may take a lot of patience and faith in Him, it is always worth the wait in the end.
